SPEAKING
What ninety-nine countries taught me about moving a room.
I have spent twenty-four years photographing people on the hardest days of their lives, and just as long in the rooms where the money that answers those days gets decided. I talk about what I learned standing in both.
KEYNOTE TALKS
WHAT I OFTEN SPEAK ABOUT

TALK ONE
The Power of Story
How a single image can change the world — and what has to happen next.
An image can move a room in about three seconds. This is a talk about what makes a story land, and what every executive needs to know about telling one well to drive the mission. Built from frames made in refugee camps, disasters, and villages at the end of bad roads worldwide.
TALK TWO
The World in Focus
A talk in three acts, built for an evening.
Each act is a story and a question. Courage: a man in Rwanda who woke up in a mass grave, crawled out, and then went back home. Vision: a window at Microsoft in 1997, and the decision I made looking out of it. Presence: a Taliban fighter in Kabul, his hand moving toward his weapon, and the two seconds that changed what happened next.
By the third act the room is not the room that walked in.

FORMATS
CUSTOMIZED TO EACH ROOM I SPEAK IN
45-60 MINUTES
Keynote
With images. Conferences, donor events, annual meetings, campus and community audiences.
HALF DAY
Workshop
The diagnostic applied directly to your organization, with the next steps written down before we finish.
90 MINUTES
Board or Leadership Session
Working, not presentational. We find the leaks while everyone is in the room.
FLEXIBLE
Fireside or Interview
For events that want the insider version and would rather have a conversation than a presentation.

BOOK YOUR TALK
Bring me in
Tell me who is in the room and what you need them to do when they leave it. I'll tell you whether I'm the right person for it.
