The World in Focus

01

Like some of the great war photographers of our time, Sean Sheridan believes he has been a witness and that his photos are his testimony to the great issues of our time, issues and events that should never be forgotten, much less repeated. "I tell people to send me to the places no one else wants to go to," Sheridan says, "because the toughest place is nearly always the place with the most gripping stories and images. And, oddly enough, the most hopeful ones. And at the end of the day I want the hardest, most hopeful stories to be told so that we might, together, join the amazing work of changing the world for good. That’s worth doing."
